Shepherds is a family run, Dundee landscaping and building company and we love what we do. Our work is who we are.

Property is an extension to a person’s life or business, that’s how we view it, it is not just about bricks and mortar. We want to be able to help people create gardens that are filled with functionality and fun and that add another space that extends the home outwards. We want to help people prepare and develop their homes to enable their property to become an extension of themselves and their lives
Having started out in the landscaping trade 17 years ago, then moving into the building and bricklaying trade, John began the foundations for Shepherds many years ago. Having realised his ability and learning his trade from some of the best, John set out to establish himself as an honest, reputable tradesman. This led us to develop our own client base over recent years and finally took the leap to establish Shepherds in it's own right. We have been helping customers redesign gardens, spaces and homes for over 10 years.
How We Work
After initial discussion with a potential customer we will undertake a site visit to provide a free no obligation quote, estimate or tender preparation. These quotes will be valid for 30 days.
We provide a free design service but will not undertake a design unless there is a commitment to a contract for works.
During our discussions and visit, we aim to develop an idea of what plans are to be realised for the space in question. We can provide design and redesign ideas for any space but we do not provide a professional advice or drawing service. We are experienced in working to architect drawings. We work with customers to develop inspirational ideas. Not every space is suitable for all types of work and we will do our best to suggest the correct methods and materials to be used. However, we take no responsibility for customers making decisions that are not recommended by us.
We can’t provide more then very rough estimates of start dates when work is confirmed. We have seen extreme challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic with staffing and supply chain issues that have made us rethink how we are able to manage expectations. We will be able to advise how many jobs are on the plan before your job would be due, but there will be no commitment to timescales until we are closer to starting your work. Deposits are taken approximately 1 month prior and no space will be guaranteed and no work will commence until a deposit received.
Contracts for work will be agreed on the acceptance of an estimate, tender or quote. Verbal or written acceptance of quote enters you into a contract for works with Shepherds Landscaping & Building. All our works are subject to our terms & conditions which can be read here. We carry full public liability insurance, CSCS certification and IOSH working safely certification.
